“DREAM OF THE DANCER” (2008)
     
Dance and drama are important parts of Balinese culture as they are
considered as expression of devotion to the gods and also a means of
teaching the younger generation traditional values. The most popular
dances that you have to watch when you are in Bali is also the mask dance.
In this possible dream I express the imagination  rising  from illusions
from the inner heart. It’s about the dancer’s dream, reminding everyone of
their pride and joy in becoming a mask dancer. Dancing with beautiful
harmony,  wearing the beautiful mask and following with Balinese gamelan
musicians.
Mask dancing will  be shown only in the big temple festivals, because Mask
Dance is sacred.
